Публикация седьмого тома серии «Буддийские тексты Гандхары» (Gandhāran Buddhist Texts — GBT) знаменует собой важную веху в развитии современной зарубежной буддологии. Если предыдущие тома серии, издаваемые под эгидой проекта «Ранние буддийские рукописи» (The Early Buddhist Manuscripts Project — EBMP), вводили в научный оборот преимущественно канонические тексты так называемого мейнстримного буддизма, то монография Андреа Шлоссер предлагает критическое издание и анализ трех уникальных свитков, классифицируемых автором как «ранние махаянские трактаты».
