<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The review examines two approaches to the study of Muslim subjectivity on the example of recent works in the field. The first approach is realized in the framework of the methodology of the history of ideas, while the second turns to the methods of sociology and anthropology. In the first case, the main attention is directed to texts and discourses, and the crucial method is hermeneutics, which is used to extract knowledge from texts about the ways in which the subject is constructed. In the second case, the focus is on social practices and interactions and their internal structure. Nevertheless, both of these approaches are linked by a common intellectual genealogy, dating back to Michel Foucault and his reflections on the subject as an entity that simultaneously constructs itself and is constructed externally by government power.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>мусульманская субъективность</kwd><kwd>история идей</kwd><kwd>глобальная модерность</kwd><kwd>множественные модерности</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Muslim subjectivity</kwd><kwd>history of ideas</kwd><kwd>Global modernity</kwd><kwd>multiple modernities</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Ассман А.
